HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of  
3
Representatives are pleased to honor and thank Adam Carter for 
4
his many accomplishments and for his strength and courage 
5
through times of adversity; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Adam Carter is 12 years old and is a 6th grader at 
7
Holy Family School; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, Adam Carter enjoys all sports and has played 
9
baseball, basketball, and football; he is an avid fan of the 
10
St. Louis Cardinals and considers Albert Pujols to be his 
11
favorite player; and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, Adam Carter is well known for his great faith in 
13
the Lord and has been awarded the Christian Student Award every 
14
year since kindergarten by his fellow students; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, Adam Carter's strength, personality, 
16
determination, and sense of humor has served as an inspiration 
17
to his family, which includes his parents, Shannon and Tim, and 
18
his sister, Megan, as well as his classmates, his many friends, 
19
and the people of the City of Decatur, the State of Illinois, 
20
and the world at large; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 
3
SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we honor Adam Carter for his 
4
many accomplishments and thank him for being a role model to 
5
the people of this State; and be it further
  
 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Adam Carter as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
