HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Metro-East Pharmacists Association on the 50th anniversary as a professional pharmacy association in the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, The Madison-St. Clair Counties Professional Pharmacists Association's original State of Illinois Certificate of Incorporation was signed April 30, 1959 as a Not-for-profit Corporation; and

WHEREAS, The purposes of the organization were to acquire or dispose or real and personal property as deemed necessary to carry out the purposes of the organization, unite pharmacists for the purpose of fostering and encouraging social, education, and business relations of the members, receive and disseminate information and knowledge as may be helpful, exchange ideas and render mutual assistance to each other, promote public relations, and support a standard of ethics and conduct and to abate abuses and injurious practices in the profession; and

WHEREAS, The association kept growing and in 1986 this association became the Metro-East Pharmacists Association and includes the counties and area surrounding the original Madison and St Clair counties; and

WHEREAS, Members have served in numerous leadership roles in local, State, and national pharmacy associations, public service, and government positions; and

WHEREAS, The association has provided loans and scholarships to numerous pharmacy students over the past 50 years; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Metro-East Pharmacists Association on their anniversary and wish them the best in their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Metro-East Pharmacists Association as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
