HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Max  Olson on his 
4
retirement from the Piatt County Board; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Max Olson was elected to the Piatt County Board in 
6
1996; he has served as Vice Chairman of the County Board and 
7
has served as the Chairman since January 26, 2004; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, He was appointed to the Public Building Commission 
9
in August of 2002, and served as the Chairman of the 
10
Commissioners until the end of his term in September of 2006; 
11
and

 
12
    WHEREAS, He has been instrumental in making important 
13
decisions concerning the construction of the Public Safety 
14
Building and the new Assisted Living Facility that will open 
15
soon; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, He is a retired farmer and he lives in Monticello; 
17
he has been married to his wife Marilyn for over fifty years 
18
and they have five grown children together, Bill, Eric, Becky, 
19
Debbie, and Julie; and

 
20
    WHEREAS, His leadership has been greatly appreciated;

therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
4
congratulate Max Olson on his retirement and wish him the best 
5
in his future endeavors; and be it further

 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Max Olson as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
