| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Former First Lady Patricia Blagojevich introduced |
| 3 |
| the Wildflowers for Illinois program in 2003 as part of a |
| 4 |
| larger State Beautification Initiative; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, The multi-million dollar program included |
| 6 |
| road-side signage crediting the former First Lady; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, In January of 2009, Governor Blagojevich was |
| 8 |
| impeached and removed from office; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Immediately upon his removal from office, the |
| 10 |
| State of Illinois began removing his name from signs across the |
| 11 |
| State; therefore, be it
|
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 13 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 14 |
| urge the Illinois Department of Transportation to remove all |
| 15 |
| signs bearing the name of Patricia Blagojevich from the |
| 16 |
| road-sides of this State over the next year; and be it further
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be given |
| 18 |
| to the Office of the Governor and the Secretary of the Illinois |
| 19 |
| Department of Transportation.
