| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Ronald J. |
4 |
| "Ron" Buonauro of Plainfield, who passed away on October 14, |
5 |
| 2008; and
|
6 |
| WHEREAS, Ronald Buonauro was born on January 20, 1941 in |
7 |
| Chicago; he grew up near Taylor and Laflin Streets in Chicago |
8 |
| and attended McClaren Grammar School and Harrison High School; |
9 |
| and
|
10 |
| WHEREAS, Ronald Buonauro was the former lead singer of the |
11 |
| Del Tones, Ronnie B. and the Knickknacks, and the Five Star |
12 |
| Edition; an accomplished singer, he was the recipient of a gold |
13 |
| record with the single "Lover's Prayer"; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Ronald Buonauro was employed as a car salesman for |
15 |
| Al Piemonte Ford in Melrose Park and Fencl-Tufo Chevy City in |
16 |
| Glendale Heights, among others, and was a former part owner of |
17 |
| Countryside Datsun in LaSalle-Peru; he and his family started |
18 |
| Buonauro's Ristorante in Naperville, operating the restaurant |
19 |
| from 1979 to 1982; in July of 1990, the family opened Caf |
20 |
| Buonaro's in Naperville, which received the Naperville Chamber |
21 |
| of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award in 2006; and |

| WHEREAS, Ronald Buonauro was well known for his charitable |

| endeavors and for his community involvement; he was a member of |
3 |
| the Naperville Rotary Club and was named "Rotarian of the Year" |
4 |
| in 2008; he was a tireless advocate of St. Patrick's Residence |
5 |
| in Naperville, where he received the "Order of Croagh Patrick"; |
6 |
| he was also active with Little Friends, the Naperville |
7 |
| Education Foundation, the Heritage YMCA, and the Johnny Genna |
8 |
| Foundation; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Ronald Buonauro was an avid golfer; he was a |
10 |
| former member of Stonebridge Country Club in Aurora and was |
11 |
| very proud of his "three hole-in-ones"; and
|
12 |
| WHEREAS, Ronald Buonauro was the loving husband of 46 years |
13 |
| to Regina "Tina" Buonauro (nee Fleseras), whom he married on |
14 |
| September 22, 1962; the devoted father of Michelle Marie (Kevin |
15 |
| Trochelman) Hedl and Tina Marie (John) McConnaughey; the adored |
16 |
| papa of "his heart", Lindsay Hedl and "his buddies", Michael |
17 |
| Hedl and Johnny McConnaughey; the beloved son of the late |
18 |
| Salvatore and Marie Buonauro; the dear brother of Madge (the |
19 |
| late Ralph) Ferraro, Delores Buonauro, Carmie (Gerry) |
20 |
| Buonauro, the late Mary (the late Billy) DiSomma, Sam (Ann) |
21 |
| Buonauro, Carmella "Lala" (the late Ralph) Del Fiacco, Dominic |
22 |
| "Chuck" (Gail) Buonauro, Lucille "Lu" (the late Joe) Vestuto, |
23 |
| and Bob (Liz) Buonauro; the fond uncle, great-uncle, and |
24 |
| great-great uncle to many; the loving brother-in-law of |

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
5 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ronald |
6 |
| J. "Ron" Buonauro; and be it further
|
7 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
8 |
| presented to the family of Ronald Buonauro as an expression of |
9 |
| our sympathy.
