| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, On April 26, 2009 the Lions Club of Roselle will |
| 3 |
| celebrate the 75th anniversary of receiving their charter as a |
| 4 |
| Lions Club; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, As well as supporting the efforts of Lions |
| 6 |
| International to eradicate blindness and serve the needy |
| 7 |
| throughout the world, the Roselle Lions are major contributors |
| 8 |
| and supporters of the Lions of Illinois Foundation, an Illinois |
| 9 |
| foundation which aids those with vision and hearing problems by |
| 10 |
| providing glasses, hearing aids, sending the vision and hearing |
| 11 |
| impaired to camp, and numerous other programs for those in |
| 12 |
| need; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The Roselle Lions Club has, over its 75-year |
| 14 |
| existence, supported its local community with donations of land |
| 15 |
| for parks, building pavilions, giving yearly monetary |
| 16 |
| donations to local charitable organizations such as the |
| 17 |
| Marklund Home, the Ray Graham Association, the Diecke Eye |
| 18 |
| Center, the Roselle American Legion, The Roselle Historical |
| 19 |
| Foundation, Stepping Stones, and numerous others; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, They have also made donations to individuals with |
| 21 |
| medical needs and donated to schools, libraries, the Miracle |
| 22 |
| Field, and other not-for-profit organizations; and
