| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Eve Ferrera for her |
| 4 |
| successful efforts with "Operation Cool-Aid"; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Operation Cool-Aid was founded a couple of years |
| 6 |
| ago, after Eve Ferrera learned that men and women serving in |
| 7 |
| Iraq and Afghanistan were drinking foul-tasting water; after |
| 8 |
| learning that they added Kool-Aid to their water for a better |
| 9 |
| taste, Ms. Ferrera decided to spearhead an effort with the |
| 10 |
| congregation of McKinley Baptist to ensure that our service men |
| 11 |
| and women can enjoy their much-needed drinks; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, From its humble beginnings, Operation Cool-Aid is |
| 13 |
| now a wide-ranging project, with almost every church, bank, and |
| 14 |
| shop in Harrisburg joining together towards this cause; since |
| 15 |
| the operation's conception, thousands of dollars of donated |
| 16 |
| packets have been sent to soldiers from Harrisburg and Saline |
| 17 |
| County; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, Eve Ferrera serves as a model of hard work, |
| 19 |
| integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of |
| 20 |
| Illinois; therefore, be it
