| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate William C. "Bill" |
| 4 |
| Jarrett on the occasion of his retirement as Mayor of the |
| 5 |
| Village of Coulterville; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Bill Jarrett was born in Coulterville; he is the |
| 7 |
| son of the late Cordell and Margaret (Khoury) Jarrett; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Bill Jarrett proudly served his country as a |
| 9 |
| member of the United States Army; he worked as a coal miner and |
| 10 |
| retired from General Motors, where he worked as an electrician |
| 11 |
| for 31 years; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Bill Jarrett is a member of St. Anthony's Catholic |
| 13 |
| Church in Lively Grove, the American Legion Post BBK 480 in |
| 14 |
| Steeleville, and St. Anthony's Men's Club; he is a past |
| 15 |
| president of the Coulterville Board of Education and a former |
| 16 |
| member of the Coulterville Village Council; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Bill Jarrett has served proudly as Mayor of the |
| 18 |
| Village of Coulterville for the past 16 years; during his |
| 19 |
| tenure, he has been instrumental in moving the Village of |
| 20 |
| Coulterville forward, with such projects as the new City Hall |
| 21 |
| and Community Center, the new baseball fields with walking |
|

| tracks, the Coulterville Care Center, the Coulterville Medical |
| 2 |
| Clinic, the waste treatment plant, the water plant, the |
| 3 |
| community recycling program, and new sidewalks, among many |
| 4 |
| others; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Bill Jarrett married Jeanetta Toensing in 1951; |
| 6 |
| the couple will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary in |
| 7 |
| September of 2009; they are the proud parents of Cyndy (Doyce) |
| 8 |
| Tabing, Cheryl Hood, Bill (Stacey) Jarrett, and Bob (Missy) |
| 9 |
| Jarrett, the proud grandparents of Jenny, Charlie, Andy, Erin, |
| 10 |
| Natalie, Jarrett, Bill, Ben, Cassidy, Kelsey, and Kaitlyn, and |
| 11 |
| the proud great-grandparents of Jake, Reece, Chloe, Madalynne, |
| 12 |
| Lydia, Landon, Gideon, Mickeala, Dalton, Seth, and Elexia; |
| 13 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 16 |
| congratulate William C. "Bill" Jarrett on the occasion of his |
| 17 |
| retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement |
| 18 |
| years; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 20 |
| presented to Bill Jarrett as a symbol of our esteem and |

| respect.
