| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Tom Marcucci, | ||||||
| 4 | Mayor of Elmhurst, on his retirement; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, He is a lifetime resident of the City of Elmhurst; | ||||||
| 6 | he has been married to Mimi for 31 years; and they have five | ||||||
| 7 | daughters, Flavia, Frances (Matt Decker), Molly (Tom Smith), | ||||||
| 8 | Annie, and Kitty; after his retirement he and his wife will | ||||||
| 9 | enjoy a beach house they purchased in addition to traveling; | ||||||
| 10 | and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, He was first elected to the office of Mayor in | ||||||
| 12 | 1993; he also works at the family owned Gonnella Bread Company, | ||||||
| 13 | where he serves as vice president of sales and marketing; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, He currently holds the position of Treasurer of | ||||||
| 15 | the Suburban O'Hare Commission; he is a member of the PACE | ||||||
| 16 | Suburban Bus System Board of Directors, the DuPage County | ||||||
| 17 | Stormwater Committee, the Illinois Compensation Review Board, | ||||||
| 18 | the Chicago Metropolitan Mayors Caucus Executive Board, the | ||||||
| 19 | Mayors Committee for the 2016 Olympics in Chicago, a board | ||||||
| 20 | member of the Make A Wish Foundation of Illinois, a member of | ||||||
| 21 | the Metropolitan Family Services in DuPage County Board of | ||||||
| 22 | Directors, a member of the York High School Randy Mikal | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Scholarship Fund Board of Directors, and Honorary Chairman of | ||||||
| 2 | the Elmhurst Children's Assistance Foundation; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, He is the former President of The DuPage Mayors | ||||||
| 4 | and Managers Conference, a former member of the Northeastern | ||||||
| 5 | Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC), a former member of the | ||||||
| 6 | DuPage Water Commission, the former girls volleyball coach at | ||||||
| 7 | Immaculate Conception Grade School, the former Treasurer of the | ||||||
| 8 | Immaculate Conception Grade School Parents Club, and a former | ||||||
| 9 | member of the Immaculate Conception Grade School Board of | ||||||
| 10 | Directors; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, He is a graduate of Immaculate Conception Grade | ||||||
| 12 | School, York Community High School, and received a Bachelor of | ||||||
| 13 | Arts degree from Drake University; he has also done continuing | ||||||
| 14 | education in accounting at Elmhurst College; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, As Mayor, Tom Marcucci has seen the passage of | ||||||
| 16 | referendums providing for the complete reconstruction of York | ||||||
| 17 | Community High School and a new Elmhurst Public Library; he has | ||||||
| 18 | overseen the revitalization of the Central Business District, | ||||||
| 19 | increased infrastructure spending, settled a dispute with the | ||||||
| 20 | Illinois Department of Transportation that led to the | ||||||
| 21 | rebuilding of North Avenue, and resurrected the Commission on | ||||||
| 22 | Youth; therefore, be it

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 2 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 3 | congratulate Mayor Tom Marcucci and wish him the best in his | ||||||
| 4 | future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 6 | presented to Mayor Tom Marcucci as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 7 | esteem.
