HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Nancy Rohr on being 
4
selected as the 2009 Altrusa International Club of Elgin's 
5
Woman of the Year; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The award is given annually to a woman of the 
7
community who is not a member of Altrusa but exemplifies the 
8
Altrusa keys of Amity, Loyalty, Talent, Reciprocity, Unity, 
9
Service, and Achievement; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, She served the Village of South Elgin on the Board 
11
of Trustees for many years; and she was instrumental in the 
12
implementing of the Village's 9-1-1- emergency telephone 
13
system; and
 
14
    WHEREAS, Nancy Rohr is a volunteer with the League of Women 
15
Voters, the Meals on Wheels program of Church Women United, 
16
Faith United and Epworth United Methodist Churches, and Provena 
17
St. Joseph Hospital; and

    WHEREAS, In addition to this honor, Nancy Rohr received the 
19
2008 YWCA Elgin Leader Luncheon Myrtle Speigler Gerberding 
20
Award for Public Service, the 1980 Invaluable Service and 
21
Appreciation Award from the South Elgin Lions Club, and was

nominated twice for the Elgin Women's Club "Women of the Year" 
2
award; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate Nancy Rohr on being selected for this award and 
6
wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it 
7
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Nancy Rohr as a symbol of our respect.
