HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ted Mueller, 
4
former Mayor of the Village of Hainesville, on his retirement; 
5
and

 
6
    WHEREAS, He began his time as Mayor in 2001; he previously 
7
served as a Village Trustee from 1995 to 2001; he is known for 
8
asking "Does anyone know what today is?" and for being the 
9
oldest mayor in the oldest village in Lake County; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, He started the Hainesville Police Department and 
11
oversaw construction of the bicycle path; he was always 
12
available to residents of the community and serving their 
13
needs; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, He is a Veteran of the United States Navy and 
15
served his country in World War II; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, He is a registered professional engineer in both 
17
Illinois and Missouri and served on many professional society 
18
committees; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, He has been married to his wife, Barb, for 
20
fifty-eight years; they have three children, seven

grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren; he enjoys fishing 
2
and traveling to Branson, Missouri to fish there; therefore, be 
3
it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate Ted Mueller on his retirement and wish him well in 
7
his future endeavors; and be it further

 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Ted Mueller as a symbol of our respect.
