HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, Linda Meyer has been the director of the Chatham 
3
Area Public Library District for 21 years; and

 
4
    WHEREAS, The Chatham Area Public Library District has 
5
experienced tremendous growth in the past 21 years; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, During her tenure, Linda Meyer has successfully 
7
steered the Chatham Area Public Library District through 
8
referendums, subsequent moves, and expansions to the library; 
9
and

 
10
    WHEREAS, The Chatham Area Public Library is an integral and 
11
vital part of the greater Chatham community due to Linda 
12
Meyer's vision and leadership; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Residents of the Chatham Area Public Library 
14
District benefit from Linda Meyer's vision and leadership 
15
through the promotion of reading, literacy, community 
16
programs, and leisure activities; and
 
17
    WHEREAS, Opportunities and partnerships to support the 
18
library community have been fostered by Linda Meyer, in 
19
conjunction with the Rolling Prairie Library District and area 
20
libraries; and

    WHEREAS, Linda Meyer is the beloved leader of the library 
2
and is supported by a competent and professional staff; and

    WHEREAS, The members of this body recognize Linda Meyer's 
4
abilities, capacities, and indefatigable service to the 
5
Chatham Area Public Library District; therefore, be it

 
6
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8
designate the date of June 27, 2009 as Linda Meyer Day in the 
9
State of Illinois; and be it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11
presented to Linda Meyer as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
