HOUSE RESOLUTION


 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Shirley J. Kurre, 
4
Principal of Holy Rosary Catholic School in Fairmont City, on 
5
her retirement; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, She was born in Fairmont City and attended and 
7
graduated from Rose Lake Grade School in Fairmont City and East 
8
Side High School in East St. Louis; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, She graduated from Southwest Missouri State 
10
University with a degree in elementary education in 1963, 
11
married Fred Kurre on August 3, 1963, and began her career in 
12
education in the fall of that year with the Cahokia school 
13
system; and

 
14
    WHEREAS, She started teaching at Holy Rosary Catholic 
15
School in August of 1968 and became the school principal in 
16
1971; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, She has served Holy Rosary Catholic School for 41 
18
years and will retire in May of 2009; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Shirley and Fred have two daughters, Laura and 
20
Jacquelyn; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate Shirley Kurre on her retirement and wish her the 
4
best in all her future endeavors; and be it further

 
5
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6
presented to Mrs. Shirley Kurre as a symbol of our respect.
