HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Dan Shea on his years of public service to and his retirement from the McHenry County Board; and

WHEREAS, Dan served on the District 1 County Board beginning on December 1, 1996 and retired in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Dan has served on the following committees: the Law and Justice Committee, the Transportation Committee, the Liquor and License Committee, the Valley-Hi Committee, CDBG, the Chairman's Advisory Legislative Forum, the Local Emergency Planning Committee, the Fox Waterway Agency Committee, and the Lakewood Resource Committee; and

WHEREAS, Dan also served as a policeman in Fox River Grove from 1964 to 1979; as the Village President of Fox River Grove from 1983 to 1993; as a member of the McHenry County Stormwater Management Committee for 5 years and as a Chairman of that committee for 3 years; as a member of the Fox Waterway Advisory Committee from 1997 to the present; as a member of the Lakewood Resource Center Intervention Program from 1998 to 2006; as a member of the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning from 2005 to the present; as a member of NIPC from 1989 to 1993; and as a member of the Emergency Services and Disaster Agency in Fox River Grove from 1971 to 1974; and

WHEREAS, Dan Shea also served as an auxiliary member of Good Shepherd Hospital; as a member of the McHenry County Conservation Foundation; and as a member of the McHenry County Historical Society Board; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dan Shea and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Dan Shea as a symbol of our sincere respect and esteem.
