HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are saddened to  learn of the death of
Edna 
4
Marshall, who passed away on May 21, 2009; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Edna Marshall was born on January 4, 1943; she was 
6
a graduate of Chicago State University and retired from the 
7
University of Chicago, where she worked for over 20 years; and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Edna Marshall enjoyed life, gardening, church, 
9
and her friends; she often spoke of her life's journey; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Edna Marshall and her husband were dear friends of 
11
Illinois State
Representative Constance Howard and her 
12
husband, Phillip Howard; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, Edna Marshall was the loving mother of two 
14
daughters, Laniece Marshall and Sherise Folk, and the doting 
15
grandmother of Jaqui,
Eugene III, and Jadyen; therefore, be it


 
16
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
17
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
18
mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Edna 
19
Marshall; and be it further
