| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Tonya Long on her |
| 4 |
| retirement from the Chicago Police Department; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, She began her career with the City of Chicago in |
| 6 |
| 1976 as a Library Page in a part-time position; in 1979 she |
| 7 |
| became a full-time employee, holding titles such as Junior |
| 8 |
| Clerk, Senior Clerk, Principal Clerk, Head Clerk, and Library |
| 9 |
| Guard; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, In 1997 she transferred to the Chicago Police |
| 11 |
| Department as a Clerk IV, working in the Identification |
| 12 |
| section, fingerprinting clients and disseminating criminal |
| 13 |
| history records; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, In May of 2007 she transferred to the Research and |
| 15 |
| Development Division, assisting in the daily operations of the |
| 16 |
| Administrative Section of the unit; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, On June 30, 2009 she will retire after serving |
| 18 |
| with the City of Chicago for 33 1/2 years; therefore, be it
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |

| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
