HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Amie Burke on being 
4
the newly elected 2009-2010 Illinois Association Future 
5
Farmers of America State President; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Amie Burke is from Oakwood and has been the 
7
Oakwood FFA Chapter President for three years; she has also 
8
served as Section 18 Reporter, Section 18 President, and 
9
District 4 Director; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Amie Burke was born in Urbana and is the daughter 
11
of Debbie Burke and Virgil Burke; she is the granddaughter of 
12
Larry and Nancy Bott; and

 
13
    WHEREAS, She attended grades Kindergarten through 12th 
14
grade in the Oakwood School District; she graduated in May as 
15
co-valedictorian of her class; and

 

16
    WHEREAS, She will serve the Illinois Future Farmers of 
17
America over the next year; she will promote agriculture and 
18
leadership; she plans to further her education in Agricultural 
19
Education and Sign Language Interpretation and Communication; 
20
therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

congratulate Amie Burke on her election to the State FFA 
4
President position and wish her all the best in her future 
5
endeavors; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Amie Burke as a symbol of our respect.
