| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Ben |
| 4 |
| Bruce, who passed away on July 14, 2009; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Ben Bruce and his wife, Lois Jane, successfully |
| 6 |
| owned and operated Bruce Electric, TVW Men's Wear, Shermand's |
| 7 |
| Department Store, and Bruce's Ladies Apparel; he was elected to |
| 8 |
| the Bank of Marion's Board of Directors in 1972; he retired as |
| 9 |
| chairman of the board in 2004; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Ben Bruce was the loving father of his son, B.W. |
| 11 |
| Bruce, and his daughters, Laura Ann and Elizabeth Jane; and the |
| 12 |
| beloved grandfather of several grandchildren; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Ben Bruce will be remembered by all who knew and |
| 14 |
| loved him as a wonderful husband, father, and friend, whose |
| 15 |
| dedication to his community and his family endeared him to |
| 16 |
| everyone he met; therefore, be it
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 18 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 |
| mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Ben |
| 20 |
| Bruce; and be it further
