HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Pastor Paul 
4
Hernandez of Casa del Alfarero Church in Aurora on 50 years of 
5
ministry and his 75th birthday; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, He was born on June 7, 1934, to Felipe and 
7
Margarita Flores Hernandez in Tilden, Texas; he attended Robert 
8
E. Lee Jr. High School in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from 
9
San Angelo High School and San Angelo Business College in San 
10
Angelo; he also attended Angelo State University before 
11
receiving his call to the ministry; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, After receiving his call, he graduated and was 
13
Valedictorian of the class of 1959 from Latin American Bible 
14
Institute in Yselta, Texas; later that year he received his 
15
credentials from the Latin American District Council of the 
16
Assemblies of God Church; he also married his wife, Helen, in 
17
1959; and

 
18
    WHEREAS, Paul and Helen moved to Springfield, Missouri, 
19
where Paul attended classes and graduated from Central Bible 
20
College in 1963, with his Bachelors degree in Bible and a minor 
21
in Sociology; and

    WHEREAS, Paul pastored several churches across the 
2
country, from Michigan to California, before he and his family 
3
settled in Aurora in 1994; and

 
4
    WHEREAS, Helen passed away in 2001; in 2003 Paul made the 
5
decision to retire from full-time ministry but is still an 
6
ordained minister with the Assemblies of God; therefore, be it

 
7
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9
congratulate Pastor Paul Hernandez and wish him all the best 
10
for the future; and be it further

 
11
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12
presented to Pastor Paul Hernandez as a symbol of our sincere 
13
respect.
