HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor Mike Dominguez on his 
4
retirement; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, He was born on January 29, 1938 in Coahuila, 
6
Mexico to Santos Dominguez and Conception Nelson Dominguez; the 
7
family moved to Chicago when he was 15 years old and it has 
8
been his home ever since; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, He attended Crane High School in Chicago and 
10
excelled in mathematics, particularly calculus; he served in 
11
the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1958; 
12
and

 
13
    WHEREAS, He has worked in a variety of positions over the 
14
years, including machinist, fleet management, and with the 
15
Chicago Department of Transportation; he made the decision to 
16
retire on April 30, 2009; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Over the years he has worked actively for change 
18
in his community and has worked on many aldermanic campaigns; 
19
from 1999 to the present he has served as the Coordinator for 
20
State Representative Edward Acevedo; and

    WHEREAS, Mike has been happily married to Antoinette 
2
Morales Dominguez for 56 years and they are the proud parents 
3
of Sandra, Joann, Cathy, Donna, Conception, Michelle, and 
4
Michael; therefore, be it

 
5
    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7
congratulate Mike Dominguez on his retirement and wish him the 
8
best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to Mike Dominguez as a symbol of our sincere respect.
