HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives
are pleased to congratulate Edwin "Ed" C. 
4
Johnson,
Regulatory Affairs Manager with
Corn Products-Argo 
5
Plant, on his retirement; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, He began his career at the Argo Plant in the 
7
summer
of 1963, working as a temporary Lab Technician; in 
8
February of 1965 Ed held his first full time position as an 
9
Assistant Engineer at the Moffett Technical Center; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, In the 1970s he was transferred to the Corpus 
11
Christi Plant as a process engineer and returned to the Moffett 
12
Technical Center in 1972, after commuting for over one year to 
13
Greenville, South Carolina and Stockton, California; his 
14
family moved to Stockton for the startup and optimization of 
15
the Stockton Plant; and

 
16
    WHEREAS, In the 1980s he moved back "home" to Illinois and 
17
became a Sr. Process Engineer, then a Staff Engineer, in the 
18
1990s, followed by his role as a Plant Engineer; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, In 2000 he became the Regulatory Affairs Manager 
20
for the Corn Products U.S. Argo Plant in Bedford Park; and

    WHEREAS, He has served Corn Products
for 45 years; he has a 
2
Bachelor of Science degree from
the University of Illinois, 
3
majoring in chemical engineering; he has been married to 
4
Patricia for 40 years and
they have two children, Kristin and 
5
Kevin; therefore, be it

 
6
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8
congratulate Edwin Johnson on his retirement and wish him the 
9
best in his future endeavors; and be it further

 
10
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

11
presented to Edwin Johnson as a symbol of our respect and 
12
esteem.
