HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to recognize Doctor Nancy Alvarez, 
4
popularly known as Dr. Nancy, for her work helping Latino 
5
families and communities; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, Born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Doctor 
7
Nancy Alvarez has earned numerous professional awards in the 
8
field of human sexuality; and
 
9
    WHEREAS, She is truly multi-talented; she has a doctorate 
10
in clinical psychology and family therapy; she is an author, 
11
columnist, and pop music and jazz vocalist; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Dr. Nancy's greatest achievement is serving as 
13
producer and host of the internationally acclaimed program 
14
"¿Quién Tiene la Razón?", which is broadcast on UNIVISION; on 
15
the program, Dr. Nancy counsels individuals and families in 
16
crisis; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Although she has received numerous awards for her 
18
work, she says that her greatest rewards are the thousands of 
19
testimonials from people who have benefited from her 
20
counseling; and

    WHEREAS, She is a certified sexologist and a member of the 
2
American Board of Sexology; and

    WHEREAS, Dr. Nancy is being honored for her work by the 
4
Dominican American Midwest Association for her hard work and 
5
dedication to helping others; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8
congratulate and recognize Dr. Nancy for her work in helping 
9
Latino families, individuals, and communities; and be it 
10
further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12
presented to Dr. Nancy Alvarez as a symbol of our respect and 
13
esteem.
