HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The institution of marriage is one of the 
3
cornerstones upon which our society is built, and a marriage 
4
that has achieved a notable longevity is truly a model for the 
5
people of the State of Illinois; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Algren and Joanne Anderson were married on October 
7
10, 1959 at St. Teresa Church in Belleville; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, Algren and Joanne Anderson are the proud parents 
9
of Mark Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Margaret Besing, Michael 
10
Anderson, and Brien Anderson and the loving grandparents of 11 
11
grandchildren; and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, Algren and Joanne Anderson renewed their marriage 
13
vows during the 10 A.M. Mass at St. Lawrence Church on October 
14
11, 2009; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, The respect for marriage reaches one of its 
16
highest plateaus when a couple such as Algren and Joanne 
17
Anderson celebrate their golden wedding anniversary; Algren 
18
and Joanne stand as examples of the best of our society, and 
19
their love and devotion to each other and to their family and 
20
friends serve as a reminder to all that hard work, dedication, 
21
and love can make a difference in today's world; therefore, be

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

congratulate Algren and Joanne Anderson on the occasion of 
5
their
50th wedding anniversary and wish them happiness and good 
6
health in the future; and be it further
  
 
7
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8
presented to Algren and Joanne Anderson as a symbol of our 
9
esteem and respect.
