HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the Hinsdale South High School Special Olympics team on the occasion of being designated 2009 Illinois State Basketball Gold Medal Winners; and

WHEREAS, The Hinsdale South Special Olympics team played in Division 8, the top bracket in the Special Olympics, and defeated 2 undefeated teams during the course of their season; the team was ably led by the team's fantastic coaches and staff, who were under the leadership of Athletic Director Tim Feigh; and

WHEREAS, Two of the team members, Shelly Megan and Bobby Verduin, have been nominated by their school, tried out, and qualified to represent the State of Illinois on the national Special Olympics team in the National Games in 2010; and

WHEREAS, The winners of the 2009 Illinois State Basketball Gold Medal are Chris "Moose" Cholewa, Steven "Pesky" Pesce, Shelly "D" Meegan, Dunisha "Unleasha" Akins, Darrius "Vulcher" Fulcher, "Big" Bobby Anderson, Orlando "Florida" Cruz, Ryan "Pots and Pans" Thomas, Bobby "Big Time" Verduin, Mike "Ballin" Balster, and Paul "Magic" Johnson; and

WHEREAS, The members of the Hinsdale South High School Special Olympics team are models of dedication and integrity for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the members of the Hinsdale South High School Special Olympics team on the occasion of being designated 2009 Illinois State Basketball Gold Medal Winners and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Tim Feigh, Athletic Director of the Hinsdale South Special Olympics team, as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
