HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Helen Jennings 
4
Duckworth on her retirement from the Illinois State Treasurer’s 
5
Office; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Helen was born to Elizabeth Jayne and George

7
Edward Jennings in Springfield and is one of ten children; she 
8
married Tim Duckworth on May 19, 1984 and they are parents of 
9
three daughters, Margaret Portia, Elizabeth Jayne, and Maureen 
10
Clancy Duckworth; in addition, they have one grandchild, Austin 
11
Mathew Becker; and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, Helen began her career in public service over 33 
13
years ago on August 17, 1976, when she accepted a position at 
14
the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS,  She has worked for seven different State 
16
Treasurers; and
  
 
  
17
    WHEREAS, After retirement Helen will continue her labors to 
18
create the perfect pots of chicken soup and chili, making the 
19
world a better place to live; therefore, be it
  
 
20
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

congratulate Helen Jennings Duckworth and wish her all the best
