HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives wish to congratulate the owners and employees 
4
of the Ariston Drive In of Hazel Crest on the 25th anniversary 
5
of the eatery; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, The restaurant is known for its Italian beef 
7
sandwiches, large salads, and delicious gyros; the gyros are 
8
ranked among the best in the Chicago area according to Estiator 
9
Restaurant magazine; and
  
 
10
    WHEREAS, Nick Reveliotis and his brother-in-law, Jim and 
11
Tom Katris, began the business 25 years ago in a boarded up 
12
Arthur Treachers Fish and Chips; and
  
 
13
    WHEREAS, The restaurant gives to the Hazelnut Festival each 
14
year, contributes to the Hazel Crest Youth Achievement 
15
Foundation Scholarship, gives to the Hazel Crest schools, and 
16
gives free lunches to students who exhibit academic excellence; 
17
and
  
 
18
    WHEREAS, The restaurant recently received a Beautification 
19
Award from the Village of Hazel Crest for its well-maintained 
20
property; and

    WHEREAS, Many of the employees of the Ariston have worked 
2
there more than eight years; employee Martin Romero has worked 
3
for the business for twenty years; therefore, be it
  
 
4
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate the owners and employees of Ariston Restaurant and 
7
wish them continued success in the future; and be it further
  
 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Nick Reveliotis, owner of the Ariston, as a symbol 
10
of our respect and esteem.
