HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4
Kane County Sheriff's Department that participated in the 
5
investigation of an expansive drug trafficking organization 
6
for being the recipients of the Stars of Distinction Task Force 
7
Award from the Chicago Crime Commission; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, The Stars of Distinction Award is awarded by the 
9
Chicago Crime Commission to honor crime fighters around the 
10
Chicago area for their dedication to serving citizens and 
11
keeping streets safe; and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, The Kane County Sheriff's Department participated 
13
in an investigation that uncovered an expansive drug 
14
trafficking organization that reached from California to rural 
15
Kane County; and
  
 
16
    WHEREAS, The Kane County Sheriff's Department was the only 
17
suburban county police department recognized with the Stars of 
18
Distinction Award this year; and
  
 
19
    WHEREAS, The recipients of the Stars of Distinction Award 
20
are Detective Phil Schuring, Sergeant Eric Fisher, Sergeant 
21
Mike Beatus, Sergeant Branden Gentry, Sergeant Willie Mayes,

Detective Sal Rodriguez, Detective Amy Pogorzelski, Detective

Steve Reitmeyer, Detective Ken Johnson, Detective Jerry

Krawczyk, Detective Walter Edwards, Detective Stan Towers,

Detective Aaron Feiza, Detective Brad Zentmyer, Detective Dan

O'Hara, and Detective Keith Smith; and

    WHEREAS, The Kane County Sheriff's Department and its fine 
7
officers serve as models of hard work, integrity, and 
8
dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, 
9
be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
12
congratulate the Kane County Sheriff's Department for being the 
13
recipients of the Stars of Distinction Task Force Award from 
14
the Chicago Crime Commission and wish them continued success 
15
and happiness in the future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
17
presented to the recipients of the Stars of Distinction Award 
18
as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
