HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4
Illinois Central College volleyball team on the occasion of the 
5
team's victory at the 2009 National Junior College Athletic 
6
Association's Division II national championship in Wisconsin 
7
Dells, Wisconsin; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, The team's victory in the national tournament 
9
marks the first occasion that an ICC volleyball team has made 
10
it to the number 1 ranking; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS, Following the tournament, Illinois Central 
12
College volleyball team members Yiting Cao, Katie Thomason, and 
13
Leah Shaw were named to the All-Tournament Team, while Ms. Cao 
14
was named the tournament's most valuable player and head coach 
15
Sue Sinclair was honored as the coach of the tournament; and
  
 
16
    WHEREAS, The players of the Illinois Central College 
17
volleyball team are Tessa Barra, Yiting Cao, Hannah Deterding, 
18
Betsy Heiser, Kelsy Heiser, Megan Kirby, Callie Koziel, Ashley 
19
Meyrick, Chelsey Probst, Leah Shaw, Chelsy Stumbaugh, Katie 
20
Thomason, and Haley Woods; the team's head coach is Sue 
21
Sinclair and the assistant coaches are Traci Reach, Trish 
22
Guinee, Samantha Rennau, Brent Fox, Jennifer Gorham, and Kelly

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Central College

volleyball team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and

dedication for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore,

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8
congratulate the members of the Illinois Central College 
9
volleyball team on the occasion of the team's accomplishments 
10
and wish them continued success and happiness in the future; 
11
and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13
presented to ICC volleyball head coach Sue Sinclair as a symbol 
14
of our esteem and respect.
