HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, Ray Soucek has faithfully served Haymarket Center 
3
for 21 years as President/CEO and as a visionary leader, 
4
mentor, and passionate advocate for the needs of clients and 
5
families who suffer from addiction disorders; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS,  Ray has a distinguished career of service and 
7
selfless dedication to clients and staff, daily sharing gifts 
8
of compassion, leadership, and humility as he directs the 
9
professional services and programs on behalf of those who seek 
10
recovery; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS,  Ray is an exemplary role model for professional 
12
conduct, executive competence, and service to the addictions 
13
healthcare field; and
  
 
14
    WHEREAS,  Ray is greatly admired for his dedication and 
15
service to the addiction treatment system in Illinois and to 
16
the recovering community as demonstrated by expanding 
17
Haymarket Center service offerings to over 30 programs 
18
including a Maternal Addictions Center, Medical Detox, Rapid 
19
Stabilization Program plus an employment program, the Family 
20
Enrichment Center; and
  
 
21
    WHEREAS,  Ray has made an indelible professional and

personal impact on all who know him as well as thousands of 
2
addictions professionals in Illinois and thru the Mid-West 
3
Region by being a champion for the advancement of the "science 
4
addictions healthcare best practices" thru the establishment 
5
of the annual Summer Institute on Addictions offered by 
6
Haymarket Center for the last 15 years; and
  
 
7
    WHEREAS,  Ray has made profound and lasting contributions to 
8
the Illinois Alcoholism & Drug Dependence Association by 
9
allowing members of his executive team to play key advocacy 
10
roles in public policy and funding endeavors; therefore, be it
  
 
11
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13
congratulate Ray Soucek for his 21 years of service to the 
14
Haymarket Center; and be it further
  
 
15
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16
presented to Ray Soucek as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
