HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mary Bricker for 
4
her years of service as president of the Iroquois County 
5
Republican Women's Club; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, She has served as president for 50 years and is a 
7
current board member; she has been a member of the Women's Club 
8
since she moved to Watseka; and
  
 
9
    WHEREAS, She previously served as president from 1953 to 
10
1056 and again from 1962 until November 23, 2009; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS, Mary was a teacher at Watseka High School from 
12
1945 to 1980, retiring after 36 years of serving as an 
13
educator; her late husband, Stanley, was an Illinois State 
14
Policeman; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, Mary also served as a precinct committeeperson for 
16
Iroquois County and currently serves as vice-president on the 
17
Watseka Park District Board, where she served as secretary and 
18
president previously; and
  
 
19
    WHEREAS, In addition,  she serves on the board of Harbor 
20
House, an organization that helps battered women; she serves on

the board for Illiani Connection, a University of Illinois 
2
board that deals with legislation; and she served on the State 
3
Police Merit Board in Springfield for two years; therefore, be 
4
it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7
congratulate Mary Bricker for her hard work and dedication to 
8
the Iroquois County Republican Women's Club; and be it further
  
 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to Mary Bricker as a symbol of our respect and 
11
esteem.
