| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Reverend Janette |
4 |
| C. Wilson-Howard of Chicago on the occasion of her installation |
5 |
| as Assistant Pastor of Metropolitan Apostolic Community Church |
6 |
| in Chicago on January 31, 2010; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Rev. Wilson-Howard earned her bachelor's degree |
8 |
| in chemistry from MacMurray College in Jacksonville in 1971 and |
9 |
| her master's degree in environmental science/planning from |
10 |
| Governor's State University in Chicago in 1975; she earned her |
11 |
| Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School in 1980; she |
12 |
| then earned her Doctor of Ministry degree from the United |
13 |
| Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio in 1998; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Rev. Wilson-Howard has had a long and |
15 |
| distinguished career in the ministry; she served as executive |
16 |
| producer/host of the International Sunday School Telecast in |
17 |
| Chicago from 1985 to the present; she served as director of the |
18 |
| Rainbow/PUSH Minister's Division from 1990 to 1999; she was an |
19 |
| associate minister at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church |
20 |
| in Chicago from 1995 to 1998; she was the director of the |
21 |
| Chicago Public Schools Interfaith Community Partnerships from |
22 |
| 1996 to 2006; she was an associate pastor at the Cosmopolitan |
23 |
| Community Church in Chicago from 1999 to 2001; she served as |
|

| Associate Pastor for Family Care at the First Baptist |

| Congregational UCC in Chicago from 2001 to 2006; from 2005 to |

| 2006, she served as Dean of Doctoral Studies at the United |

| Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio; she has also served as a |
5 |
| Pastor for Leadership Development and Strategic Planning at the |
6 |
| Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago since 2006; and
|
7 |
| WHEREAS, Rev. Wilson-Howard is a member of the Illinois Bar |
8 |
| Association, the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court, and the |
9 |
| General Bar of the U.S. District Court; she has also been |
10 |
| admitted to the U.S. Tax Court; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Rev. Wilson-Howard worked in private practice at |
12 |
| Wilson, Howard, P.C. from 1980 to 1996; from 1982 to 1986, she |
13 |
| served as legal counsel for Operation PUSH, Inc.; in 1989, she |
14 |
| served as Special Counsel to the Mayor of the City of Chicago; |
15 |
| she served as Interim General Counsel at Chicago State |
16 |
| University from 1994 to 1995; and |
17 |
| WHEREAS, Rev. Wilson-Howard has served in numerous |
18 |
| management positions; she was a business manager at Sidney |
19 |
| Hillman Health Centre at Chicago from 1975 to 1980; she was the |
20 |
| National Executive Director of the PUSH International Trade |
21 |
| Bureau in Chicago from 1986 to 1988; she was the National |
22 |
| Executive Director Operation PUSH in Chicago from 1991 to 1994; |
23 |
| she was the Director of Attendance Improvement, Truancy |

| Intervention, and Human Relations for the Chicago Public School |

| system from 1999 to 2006; she has also served as Project |

| Manager for School Climate for the Chicago Public Schools |

| system since 2007; and

| WHEREAS, Rev. Wilson-Howard's extensive experience and |
6 |
| impeccable reputation will ensure the continued growth and |
7 |
| prosperity of the Metropolitan Apostolic Community Church; |
8 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
10 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
11 |
| congratulate Reverend Janette C. Wilson-Howard on the occasion |
12 |
| of her new position and wish her continued success and |
13 |
| happiness in the future; and be it further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
15 |
| presented to Reverend Janette Wilson-Howard as a symbol of our |

| esteem and respect.
