HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate the administration 
4
and staff of South Central Community Services, Inc., in Chicago 
5
on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the organization's 
6
fundraiser, "Puttin' On The Hits", on March 19, 2010; and
  
 
7
    WHEREAS, South Central Community Services (SCCS) is a 
8
comprehensive social service agency that offers 22 programs 
9
from 11 facilities in Chicago and East St. Louis; the 
10
organization provides services to over 3,000 people each year; 
11
and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, For the past 25 years, SCCS has hosted the 
13
"Puttin' On The Hits" fundraiser, which features a lively 
14
reception and an outstanding mix of lip-sync artists that 
15
perform during an after-dinner concert; the fundraiser 
16
attracts an audience of more than 850 people, which includes 
17
many of Chicago's corporate, political, and community leaders; 
18
and
  
 
19
    WHEREAS, The "Puttin' On The Hits" fundraiser ensures that 
20
SCCS will continue to address the many economic, educational, 
21
psychological, and social challenges that exist in high-need 
22
communities throughout the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate the administration and staff of South Central 
4
Community Services, Inc., on the occasion of the 25th 
5
anniversary of the organization's fundraiser, "Puttin' On The 
6
Hits" and wish them continued success and happiness in the 
7
future; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Felicia Y. Blasingame, President/CEO of SCCS, 
10
Inc., as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
