HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Patricia 
4
Kay (White) Connolly of Marion, who passed away on January 9, 
5
2010; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, She was born February 22, 1926, in Marion, to 
7
Frank and Louise (Volk) White; after her mother's death, she 
8
was raised by her father, Frank "Sweetie Pie" and his wife, 
9
Dorene (Bertane) White "Mum-Mum";

Patricia was united in 
10
marriage with John Joseph Connolly on August 18, 1949, at 
11
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin; and
 
12
    WHEREAS, Mrs. Connolly was a homemaker and a member of St. 
13
Joseph Catholic Church in Marion; she was educated all over 
14
Illinois and the surrounding area, including the Academy of 
15
Notre Dame in Belleville, Webster College in St. Louis, and 
16
Chicago Music College; and
  
 
17
    WHEREAS, She was known for her interest in many diverse 
18
topics, which she studied and researched extensively, 
19
including her love of Jesus Christ, opera singing and 
20
performing, handwriting analysis, her great love of 
21
literature, and even animals, including her daily feedings of 
22
all the squirrels and birds that were lucky enough to inhabit

her backyard; and

    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her 
3
stepmother; and her infant son, John Joseph Connolly Jr.; and
  
 
4
    WHEREAS, Patricia Connolly is survived by her husband of 60 
5
years, John Connolly; her daughters and a son-in-law, Mary and 
6
Jim Gabby and Patti Peterson; her seven grandchildren, John 
7
Gabby, Rachel (Josh) Dunnigan, Lindsay Gabby, Katie Gabby, 
8
Allison Powell Pape, Jackson Connolly, and Zachary Peterson; 
9
her three great-grandchildren, Grace Pape, Joseph Pape, and 
10
Olivia Crain; her cousin, Marianne Mayer; her former 
11
grandson-in-law, Nathaniel Pape; and her special friends, 
12
Nealy, Jeff, and Joy Brown; therefore, be it
  
 
13
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
15
mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of 
16
Patricia Connolly; and be it further
  
 
17
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18
presented to the family of Patricia Connolly as a symbol of our 
19
sincere sympathy.
