| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |

| Representatives wish to honor Mr. Nicho Hinojosa, trova |
| 4 |
| musician, for being a cultural ambassador of Hispanic music, |
| 5 |
| and to express appreciation for his visit to the Olympic |
| 6 |
| theater in Cicero; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, On February 13, 2010, Mr. Hinojosa will step on |
| 8 |
| the stage at the Olympic theater to deliver a repertoire of |
| 9 |
| trova, a music form that combines romantic, vanguard, and Latin |
| 10 |
| American folk styles to express the feeling of "El Pueblo"; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hinojosa began singing at the age of eight; he |
| 12 |
| was influenced by classic rock bands and started playing drums |
| 13 |
| in a local ensemble; he emerged as a "multi-instrumentalist" |
| 14 |
| after attending Monterrey's "Escuela Superior de Musica y |
| 15 |
| Danza" (School of Superior Education on Music and Dance); and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, In 1993 he joined a collective music project |
| 17 |
| called Guitarrs por el Mundo (Guitars Around the World), and |
| 18 |
| together they released two albums of music; in 1993 he also |
| 19 |
| debuted as a solo artist with the release of his album "Detras |
| 20 |
| de Horizonte"; and
|

| WHEREAS, In June of 2002 he was signed by the Latin |
