HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Kevin M. "Kal" 
4
Lester on the occasion of his retirement from the Operating 
5
Engineers Local #150; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Kevin Lester was put on permit in 1973; he was 
7
employed as a well driller at Lane Western until he earned his 
8
journeyman's card on June  18, 1977; and
  
 
9
    WHEREAS, After earning his journeyman's card, Kevin Lester 
10
worked for various companies, including R.W. Dunteman Corp. and 
11
Adcock; he then returned to Lane Western, where he worked until 
12
he was asked by Bill Dugan to become a business agent for 
13
District 2 of the Operating Engineers Local #150 on September 
14
13, 1986; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, Kevin Lester is a beloved lobbyist at the Illinois 
16
State Capitol and in the Illinois labor union community; and
 
17
    WHEREAS, Kevin Lester served as President of the Fox Valley 
18
Building Trades Council; and
  
 
19
    WHEREAS, Kevin Lester is a hunter, trapper, and mountain 
20
man at heart; he is an accomplished hunter that has traveled to

South Africa twice and plans to return to hunt Cape Buffalo; 
2
and

    WHEREAS, Kevin Lester has served as a model of hard work, 
4
integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
5
Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
6
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8
congratulate Kevin M. "Kal" Lester on the occasion of his 
9
retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement 
10
years; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12
presented to Kevin Lester as a symbol of our esteem and 
13
respect.
