| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
3 |
| Representatives are pleased to honor milestones in the lives of |
4 |
| citizens of the State of Illinois; and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Donald "Don" Paul Reeves, Lake Service Foreman of |
6 |
| City, Water, Light, and Power of Springfield, has made plans to |
7 |
| retire on March 19, 2010; and
|
8 |
| WHEREAS, Don Reeves was born March 17, 1955 in Springfield, |
9 |
| to parents Peter and Stella Reeves; he is the third oldest of |
10 |
| ten children; and
|
11 |
| WHEREAS, Don Reeves attended St. Joseph, Cantrall, Fancy |
12 |
| Prairie, and Athens Grade Schools; he attended St. James Trade |
13 |
| School and graduated from Athens High School; and
|
14 |
| WHEREAS, Don Reeves began his career as a meat cutter at |
15 |
| Freers Slaughter House; he worked as a farm hand for Guy |
16 |
| Fulton; he also continued his meat cutting career working at |
17 |
| Y-T Packing Company and Ciotta & Foster; and
|
18 |
| WHEREAS, Don Reeves began his career in 1987 at City, |
19 |
| Water, Light, and Power in the mailroom as a mail messenger; he |
20 |
| was then promoted to a meter reader position; later in his |
|
|

| career he became a Maintenance Equipment Operator and was |
2 |
| finally promoted to the leadership position of Lake Service |
3 |
| Foreman; he has served the City of Springfield for 23 years; |
4 |
| and
|
5 |
| WHEREAS, Don Reeves married his wife, Joanne, on April 16, |
6 |
| 1983, and they have been married for 27 years; he is the loving |
7 |
| father of four children, Michael (wife, Liz), Theresa, Lily, |
8 |
| and Jerry, and the grandfather of one grandson, Henry; and
|
9 |
| WHEREAS, Don Reeves will enjoy the days of his retirement |
10 |
| with gardening, bike riding, reading books, and woodworking; he |
11 |
| will continue to be an active member of his church community at |
12 |
| Springfield First Church of the Nazarene; and
|
13 |
| WHEREAS, Don Reeves is a good, strong family man; he is a |
14 |
| devoted husband, son, brother, father, and grandfather; he is |
15 |
| someone who is trustworthy and reliable and the heart of his |
16 |
| family; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
18 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
19 |
| congratulate Donald Paul Reeves on his retirement and wish him |
20 |
| continued success in the future; and be it further
