HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate and honor Thomas 
4
Eugene McDaniel Sr. for  his years of hard work and dedication 
5
to the Boy Scouts of America; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Mr. McDaniel has been a Boy Scout leader for over 
7
25 years with Troop 88 in Paris; through his dedication over 12 
8
boys have made it to Eagle Scout level, including one young man 
9
with physical handicaps; and
  
 
10
    WHEREAS, Mr. McDaniel is a member of the Arrow National 
11
Honor Society, the award that best exemplifies the ideals of 
12
scouting in an American Indian style ceremony; and
  
 
13
    WHEREAS, He has also received the Silver Beaver Award, the 
14
highest council-level distinguished service award; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, He is currently a staff member at the National 
16
Jamboree, held at AP Hill, Virginia, and has held a position 
17
there for 20 years; during this year's 100th National Jamboree, 
18
he will be one of the oldest staff member in attendance; and
  
 
19
    WHEREAS, Mr. McDaniel received the 75-year Veteran Award in 
20
the Boy Scouts of America in October of 2009; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
congratulate Mr. McDaniel on being acknowledged at the 100th 
4
National Jamboree, and honor him for his dedication to the Boy 
5
Scouts of America; and be it further
  
 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to Thomas McDaniel Sr. as a symbol of our respect and 
8
esteem.
