HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Major Faye Centeno 
4
of Bridgeport on her retirement from the United States Air 
5
Force; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Major Centeno retired from the United States Air 
7
Force in August of 2009; and
  
 
8
    WHEREAS, She attended McClellan Elementary School, Healy 
9
Middle School, and St. Barbara High School; she received her 
10
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, furthered her education in the 
11
Licensed Practical Nursing Program at the Dawson Skills Center, 
12
and obtained her Registered Nursing Diploma; she later 
13
completed her Bachelor of Nursing Degree and her Master's in 
14
Health Administration while serving in the Air Force; and
  
 
15
    WHEREAS, Throughout her military career she was active in 
16
community and military events; she spoke at many events for 
17
Hispanic-Americans, including a Chicago Veteran's Day event in 
18
2006; and
  
 
19
    WHEREAS, She plans to continue her volunteer work in a 
20
number of activities during her retirement; and

    WHEREAS, Major Centeno is the daughter of the late Miguel 
2
and Gwendolyn Centeno; therefore, be it
  
 
3
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5
congratulate Major Faye Centeno on her retirement, thank her 
6
for her service to our country, and wish her the best in all 
7
her future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
8
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9
presented to Major Faye Centeno as a symbol of our respect and 
10
esteem.
