| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in | ||||||
| 4 | Illinois communities; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The Richwoods High School Boys Basketball Team | ||||||
| 6 | from Peoria finished second in the 2010 Class 3A Boys | ||||||
| 7 | Basketball Tournament on March 20, 2010, after a final score of | ||||||
| 8 | 58-55 against Hillcrest High School; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Richwoods Knights finished the season with a | ||||||
| 10 | record of 30 wins and three losses, to tie the school record of | ||||||
| 11 | most wins in a season, and a conference record of eight wins | ||||||
| 12 | and no losses; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Team members include: Nate Desjardins, Preston | ||||||
| 14 | Wells, Parish Mason, Tylon Deal, Jack Murphy, Torrance Evans, | ||||||
| 15 | Aaron Davis, Nick Hines, Tony Frazier, Jared Dehm, Will | ||||||
| 16 | Jenkins, Mason Alwan, Aaron Kemmerling, and T.J. Cole; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, The coaching staff includes: Head Coach Mike | ||||||
| 18 | Ellis, Assistant Head Coach Robert Foster, and Assistants | ||||||
| 19 | William Smith, James Roberts, and Mike Jenkins; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Head Coach Mike Ellis has served seven seasons as | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | the head coach at Richwoods High School with a career record of | ||||||
| 2 | 155-55; Coach Ellis has been named IBCA Coach of the Year four | ||||||
| 3 | times, brought teams to State Championship games twice, | ||||||
| 4 | Super-Sectional games three times, and has won multiple | ||||||
| 5 | Sectional and Regional Championships; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The #1 ranked Team by the Associated Press for | ||||||
| 7 | eight straight weeks, the Richwoods Knights captured many | ||||||
| 8 | season championships including the Rock Island Thanksgiving | ||||||
| 9 | Tournament Championship, Pekin Holiday Tournament | ||||||
| 10 | Championship, Mid-State Six Conference Championship, IHSA | ||||||
| 11 | Regional Championship, IHSA Sectional Championship, IHSA | ||||||
| 12 | Super-Sectional Championship, and Runner-Up for the IHSA Class | ||||||
| 13 | 3A State Championship; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, This balanced, unselfish, talented team worked | ||||||
| 15 | hard and the entire Peoria community is proud of their tireless | ||||||
| 16 | efforts; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 18 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 19 | honor the players, coaches, parents, students, and fans of | ||||||
| 20 | Richwoods High School for their valiant efforts and we wish | ||||||
| 21 | them future success; and be it further
| ||||||
| 22 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||

| 1 | presented to Richwoods High School as an expression of our | ||||||
| 2 | esteem.
