HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor the accomplishments of 
4
Buffalo Grove Village Manager Bill Brimm and thank him for his 
5
years of dedicated service as he retires; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Bill Brimm began his career with the Village of 
7
Buffalo Grove on January 16, 1978 as the Director of Finance 
8
and General Services and has served as the Village Manager 
9
since May 1, 2006; and
  
 
10
    WHEREAS, Bill Brimm obtained a bond rating of AA1 and AAA 
11
for the Village of Buffalo Grove; Bill Brimm has received a 
12
number of awards and recognitions during his years with the 
13
Village of Buffalo Grove including twenty Certificates of 
14
Excellence in Financial Reporting as both the Finance Director 
15
and during his time serving as the Finance Director/Assistant 
16
Village Manager by the Government Finance Officers 
17
Association; and
  
 
18
    WHEREAS, In 2004, Bill Brimm was presented with the 
19
International City/County Management Association, ICMA, 25 
20
Years Service Award; Bill Brimm is a credentialed manager with 
21
ICMA since 2005 which means that he is committed to lifelong 
22
learning as well as personal and professional betterment; and

    WHEREAS, One of Bill Brimm's greatest accomplishments was 
2
to be the project manager for the entire renovation of the 
3
Arboretum Golf Course; his efforts made it a premiere facility 
4
for both the community and the golfing public; and
 
5
    WHEREAS, Since 1978 Bill Brimm has been instrumental in the 
6
success of the widely known Buffalo Grove Days event, ensuring 
7
that the festival meets the objectives of the community, staff, 
8
committee, and Village Board; and
 
9
    WHEREAS, The Northern Illinois University Center for 
10
Governmental Studies presented Bill Brimm with the Innovative 
11
Leadership Award in 2007; and
  
 
12
    WHEREAS, Bill Brimm graduated from Northern Illinois 
13
University in DeKalb with Bachelor of Arts degree in Finance in 
14
January of 1971 and graduated with a Master's Degree in 
15
Business Administration in May of 1993; and
 
16
    WHEREAS, Bill Brimm has been married to his wife, Linda, 
17
for 37 years, has two daughters, Julie and Lori, and one 
18
grandson, Aiden; therefore, be it
  
 
19
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

congratulate Buffalo Grove Village Manager Bill Brimm on his 
2
retirement and wish him continued success in his future 
3
endeavors; and be it further

    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

presented to Bill Brimm as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
