HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2
    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to congratulate Natalie Edwards of 
4
O'Fallon on winning the 50 meter backstroke title in the 
5
Missouri-Illinois area meet held in Dekalb on March 21, 2010; 
6
and
  
 
7
    WHEREAS, Natalie Edwards started with swimming lessons at 
8
the O'Fallon YMCA when she was 3 years old; she joined the 
9
year-round YMCA of Southwest Illinois (YOSI) a little over one 
10
year ago; and
  
 
11
    WHEREAS, YOSI is a Y/U.S.A. swimming team that swims in 
12
both U.S.A. and YMCA sanctioned meets; in 2009, in her first 
13
summer of long-course(50 meter pool) swimming, she placed in 
14
the top five in the U.S.A. St. Louis Ozark Districts in the 50 
15
Back and 50 Free, achieving a AAA national time in the 50 Back; 
16
and
  
 
17
    WHEREAS, March 6-7th, 2010, she was the St. Louis YMCA 
18
District Champion in the 50 Back and finished second in the 100 
19
Free; she also finished third in the 100 Individual Medley; and
  
 
20
    WHEREAS, She then competed in the subsequent 
21
Missouri-Illinois Area (bi-State) meet up in Dekalb on March

21, 2010, capturing the 50 Backstroke title along with a fourth 
2
in the 100 Free and the 100 IM; Natalie was one of just two 
3
girls that qualified and  made the finals (top eight) in all of 
4
their individual events; she was one of two girls from YOSI to 
5
win an individual championship; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Her proud parents are Rick Edwards and Mary 
7
Edwards; therefore, be it
  
 
8
    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
10
congratulate Natalie Edwards on hard work in swimming and wish 
11
her continued success in the future; and be it further
  
 
12
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13
presented to Natalie Edwards as a symbol of our respect and 
14
esteem.
