HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ronald G. Moser on the occasion of his retirement as Chief of the Galena Volunteer Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Moser was born on February 3, 1934, in Galena; he is one of the 9 children of the late Fred and Helen Moser; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Moser graduated from Galena High School in 1952; from 1956 to 1958, he served his country with pride and distinction as a member of the United States Army, including time stationed in Germany; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Moser was employed with the Kraft Company in Galena until 1966, when he took a position with John Deere in Dubuque, Iowa; he remained at John Deere until his retirement in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Moser began his career with the Galena Volunteer Fire Department on October 12, 1959; he held many positions in the department during his career, including Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief, and Chief; he retired from the Galena Volunteer Fire Department on February 8, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Moser married Doris E. Hammill on August 15, 1953, in Benton, Wisconsin; together, the couple had 3 children, Lynn Marie Moser, Michael Brian Moser, and Jennifer Ann Moser; he also has 2 grandsons, Gage Michael Soat and Evan Andrew Soat; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Moser will be recognized for his many years of dedicated service with the Galena Volunteer Fire Department at a celebration in his honor on May 16, 2010; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Ronald G. Moser on the occasion of his retirement and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Ronald Moser as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
