| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Chicago |
| 4 |
| HIV/AIDS activist Ann L. Dunmore of South Holland, who passed |
| 5 |
| away on April 24, 2010; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Big Momma," she was a |
| 7 |
| tireless advocate, giving voice to the needs of people living |
| 8 |
| with HIV/AIDS; she began her work with the AIDS Alternative |
| 9 |
| Health Project (AAHP) with Michael Brickman; she wanted to |
| 10 |
| improve the lives of other women living with the virus and |
| 11 |
| later began working with the Chicago Women's AIDS Project |
| 12 |
| (CWAP); and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Using information learned from AAHP, CWAP, the |
| 14 |
| Chicago Area HIV/AIDS Services Planning Council, the HIV |
| 15 |
| Prevention Regional Implementation Group, the Prevention |
| 16 |
| Community Planning Group, and the AFC Service Providers Council |
| 17 |
| Executive Committee, she created the South Suburban HIV/AIDS |
| 18 |
| Regional Coalition (SSHARC); with clarity of purpose, Ann |
| 19 |
| became the Patient Care Coordinator within the Ambulatory |
| 20 |
| Clinic Network of Cook County; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Ann also worked as the Case Manager and Clinic |
| 22 |
| Coordinator for Altgeld Health Center in Chicago from December |
