HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of  
3
Representatives are pleased to honor the organizers of Honor 
4
Flight Chicago for the work they do to serve America's 
5
veterans; and
  
 
6
    WHEREAS, Honor Flight Chicago was founded in February of 
7
2008 to recognize American veterans, specifically American 
8
veterans of World War II, with a day of honor, remembrance, and 
9
celebration from a proud and grateful nation; and
  
 
10
    WHEREAS, With its staff of over 350 volunteers and 
11
guardians, Honor Flight Chicago brings World War II veterans to 
12
Washington, D.C. to allow the veterans to view the World War II 
13
Memorial; and
  
 
14
    WHEREAS, Since the organization's founding, Honor Flight 
15
Chicago has increased the number of flights from 6 flights in 
16
2008 to a projected 10 flights in 2010; Honor Flight Chicago 
17
has flown over 1,000 veterans to Washington, D.C. since 
18
February of 2008; and
  
 
19
    WHEREAS, The work that Honor Flight Chicago has done to 
20
honor our veterans and the sacrifices they made is worthy of 
21
the greatest respect; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2
NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3
honor the organizers of Honor Flight Chicago for their work 
4
with America's veterans and wish them continued success in 
5
their future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
6
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7
presented to the organizers of Honor Flight Chicago as a symbol 
8
of our esteem and respect.
