| HOUSE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Each year in Illinois approximately 80 to 90 |
| 3 |
| people are killed in collisions between trains and motor |
| 4 |
| vehicles or between trains and pedestrians; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Reducing the number of deaths and injuries related |
| 6 |
| to railroad accidents has been the goal of the DuPage Railroad |
| 7 |
| Safety Council since its inception in 1994; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, The DuPage Railroad Safety Council, in |
| 9 |
| cooperation with the Illinois Commerce Commission and |
| 10 |
| Operation Lifesaver of Illinois, is holding its biennial Safety |
| 11 |
| Summit on September 29, 2010; therefore, be it
|
| 12 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 13 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 14 |
| recognize the week of September 26 through October 2, 2010, as
|
| 15 |
| Railroad Safety Week in the State of Illinois; and be it |
| 16 |
| further
|
| 17 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 18 |
| presented the Chairman of the DuPage County Railroad Safety |
| 19 |
| Council, the Chairman of the Illinois Commerce Commission, the |
| 20 |
| Secretary of the Department of Transportation, and the Chairman |
| 21 |
| Operation Lifesaver of Illinois.
