| WHEREAS, On February 8, 1910, William Dickson Boyce, a |

| resident of the City of Ottawa, executed and signed documents |
| 4 |
| to officially incorporate and organize the Boy Scouts of |
| 5 |
| America; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Boy |
| 7 |
| Scouts of America, Scouts throughout the United States will pay |
| 8 |
| homage to a man who touched the lives of millions of youth and |
| 9 |
| adult leaders through Scouting; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, The Ottawa Scouting Museum has the unique |
| 11 |
| opportunity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boy |
| 12 |
| Scouts of America in the hometown and final resting place of |
| 13 |
| W.D. Boyce; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The Ottawa Scouting Museum will host a "Scout |
| 15 |
| Homecoming 2010" in Ottawa on June 10-13, 2010; the homecoming |
| 16 |
| will feature an old fashioned Soap Box Derby, a 1910 campsite, |
| 17 |
| a climbing wall, a rappelling tower, monkey bridges, a Dutch |
| 18 |
| Oven Cook-Off, hiking trails, and Native American dancers, |
| 19 |
| among many other activities; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, The Ottawa Scouting Museum has served as a shining |
| 21 |
| example of the Scouts and their contributions to mankind during |
