| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 |
| Representatives are pleased to congratulate Big John's Grocery |
| 4 |
| Store on 25 years of service to the people of Eldorado; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Huck's Grocery was sold to Dan Dowdy on May 20, |
| 6 |
| 1985; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Dan has worked in the store since 1976, where he |
| 8 |
| eventually became the store manager until the time he purchased |
| 9 |
| the store from Martin and Bayley, Inc.; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Eric Johnson became a partner in the business |
| 11 |
| shortly after Dan purchased the store; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Big John's is located at the intersection of Route |
| 13 |
| 45 and Route 142 in Eldorado, where it currently employs 41 |
| 14 |
| staff members, 3 of whom have been with Dan and Eric since they |
| 15 |
| became co-owners of the store; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, On May 20, 2010, the City of Eldorado hosted a |
| 17 |
| ceremony honoring Big John's; therefore, be it
|
