| HOUSE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The conviction of former Governor George Ryan and |
| 3 |
| the arrest and pending trial of former Governor Rod Blagojevich |
| 4 |
| have caused a crisis of confidence of Illinois citizens and |
| 5 |
| taxpayers in their government; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Former Governor Rod Blagojevich was accused, |
| 7 |
| among other things, of delaying the disbursement of grants in |
| 8 |
| order to obtain political contributions and of committing other |
| 9 |
| abuses of State power; therefore, be it
|
| 10 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 11 |
| NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 12 |
| the Auditor General is directed pursuant to Sections 3-2 and |
| 13 |
| 3-5 of the Illinois State Auditing Act to conduct an audit of |
| 14 |
| all grants administered by the Department of Human Services |
| 15 |
| during the Blagojevich administration, specifically from |
| 16 |
| January 13, 2003 to January 29, 2009, including without |
| 17 |
| limitation lag times in disbursement of grant amounts; and be |
| 18 |
| it further
|
| 19 |
| RESOLVED, That the Auditor General commence this audit as |
| 20 |
| soon as possible and report the findings and recommendations |
| 21 |
| upon completion in accordance with the Illinois State Auditing |
| 22 |
| Act; and be it further
