HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Ressie Nelson 
4Richardson on the occasion of her 100th birthday on August 10, 
52010; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Ressie Nelson Richardson was born on August 10, 
71910, in Ponola, Mississippi; at the age of 18, she moved to 
8Colp to live with her brother, James Nelson, to help him with 
9his children; shortly after coming to Colp, she met her future 
10husband, Emanual Richardson; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Ressie Nelson Richardson earned her degree in 
12cooking from Southern Illinois University; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Ressie Nelson Richardson was employed with the 
14late Dr. Delyte Morris and his wife, Dorothy, for 27 years; she 
15also worked with Dr. Wendell Kane in Herrin; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Ressie Nelson Richardson enjoys cooking, 
17traveling, doing housework, children, and attending the Church 
18of God in Christ; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1congratulate Ressie Nelson Richardson on the occasion of her 
2100th birthday and wish her many happy and healthy years to 
3come; and be it further
  
           
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

6and respect.
