2 | WHEREAS, Judy Tucker was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on | ||||||
3 | September 1, 1943; while raising her children, Judy attended | ||||||
4 | Victor Business School in Evergreen Park; after graduation, | ||||||
5 | Judy became affiliated with the WIN Program (Work Initiative | ||||||
6 | Program) where she acquired employment as an Intern with the | ||||||
7 | United States House of Representatives, the Honorable | ||||||
8 | Congressman Ralph Metcalfe Sr.; and | ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, After the one year completion of the internship | ||||||
10 | through WIN, and the culmination of her internship with the | ||||||
11 | United States House of Representatives, Congressman Metcalfe | ||||||
12 | wrote the director of WIN regarding Judy; his letter resulted | ||||||
13 | in her employment as the Executive Secretary to Committeeman | ||||||
14 | Metcalfe Sr. in the Third Ward Regular Democratic Organization | ||||||
15 | from 1972 to 1975; she also served as the U.S. Congressional | ||||||
16 | Aide to Congressman Metcalfe from 1976 until his death in | ||||||
17 | October 1978; and

18 | WHEREAS, Continuing the legacy, she served as Executive | ||||||
19 | Secretary/Office Manager to Ralph Metcalfe Jr., candidate for | ||||||
20 | Alderman of the Third Ward Regular Democratic Organization from | ||||||
21 | 1978 to 1980; she worked for the City of Chicago Commission on | ||||||
22 | Human Relations from 1980 to 1982; she worked for Alderman | ||||||
23 | Tyrone Kenner as the Secretary of Public Utilities from 1982 to |

1 | 1983 and the Secretary of Committee on Finance from 1983 to | ||||||
2 | 1985; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Alderman Bobby Rush recommended Judy for the | ||||||
4 | position of Office Manager to Commissioner Jerry Butler during | ||||||
5 | Butler's successfully candidacy for Cook County Commissioner | ||||||
6 | from 1985 to 1986;
Alderman Rush extended an offer to her to | ||||||
7 | serve as his Executive Secretary in the Second Ward Regular | ||||||
8 | Democratic Organization in 1986; since his elevation to U.S | ||||||
9 | Congressman of the First Congressional District in 1992, she | ||||||
10 | has held several key positions under him, most notably in her | ||||||
11 | current position as the Director of Constituent Services; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, In the role of Director of Constituent Services, | ||||||
13 | she has successfully developed valuable working relationships | ||||||
14 | with many constituents both on the governmental and main street | ||||||
15 | levels and has proven to be a great asset in this role; during | ||||||
16 | her 38-year career she has had the pleasure of working for | ||||||
17 | Congressman Rush for 24 years; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Judy has been married to Elishious Tucker for 38 | ||||||
19 | years and they reside in Chicago; she is a faithful member of | ||||||
20 | the Miracle House of Prayer Church in Chicago, under the | ||||||
21 | leadership of Pastor Dwight Craig; and
| ||||||
22 | WHEREAS, Judy is an outstanding cook, an immaculate |

1 | homemaker, and enjoys gardening; she is a pillar in the | ||||||
2 | community and has very strong family values and is very | ||||||
3 | passionate about her family, friends, colleagues, and | ||||||
4 | acquaintances; therefore, be it
| ||||||
5 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
6 | NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
7 | congratulate Judy Tucker on her long and exciting career and | ||||||
8 | wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it | ||||||
9 | further

10 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
11 | presented to Judy Tucker as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
